To be honest, I wasn't really fond of Celeteque.
2 years ago, I've tried the Celeteque Acne line that consisted of Acne Cleansing Gel, Pore Minimizing Serum, Acne Solutions Oil Control Toner, Acne Spot Corrector Gel and the Acne Clearing Facial Moisturizer Gel. I must say that out of these given products, only Acne Cleansing Gel worked for me. It could be because my skin is too sensitive that it irritated my skin.
It not so long when DermaTwitter invaded social media. TheNerdyDerma highly recommends the Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer. That is why I became eager to use it again. In my mind, 2 years have already passed, maybe my skin will like it now.
I learned from the DermaTwitter that the active ingredients of the product should be included in the first to the fifth list of ingredients or else you just wasted your money because it wouldn't work.
These are the ingredients of Celeteque Hydration Moisturizer: Water; Dimethicone; Glycerin; Panthenol; Hexylene Glycol; Carbomer; Aloe barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Extract; Sodium Hydroxide; Disodium EDTA; DMDM Hydantoin; Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate; Citric Acid.
Let's talk about the three active ingredients: Dimethicone, Glycerin, and Panthenol.
Dimethicone is an emollient that makes skin comfortable, less itchy, and seals the cracks in the skin. Glycerin is a humectant that attracts moisture into the skin. Panthenol is a humectant that moisturizes the skin and promotes wound healing. You will learn more about emollients, humectants, and occlusives in my future blogs.
I'll also include Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Extract because it still effective but just less compared to the first five ingredients.
I used to believe that I shouldn't use moisturizers since I have oily and acne-prone skin. But the thing is, moisturizers will hydrate your skin that will make your skin become less oily. It also provides protection from skin irritants outside the skin.
Notice that if you use drying products, it makes you oily afterward. Dry skin compensates by producing more oil. If you use a moisturizer, it will make your skin less oily.
Just look for moisturizers with the label "water-based", "gel-type", or "lightweight" as its main purpose is to hydrate your skin without clogging your pores.
I fell in love with this product even I'm just using it for 4 months. I noticed that I'm not that oily anymore. I also noticed that my acne marks heal faster and less inflamed. I only get pimples when I sleep late since sleeping late increases the stress hormone in the skin. Increased stress hormones lead to more production of oil. That is why I am to sleep before 10pm.
How do I use this? I wash my face two times a day: morning and night. Then I put this moisturizer afterward. I personally recommend that you buy it in Mercury Drugs as its way cheaper than others. The price of the product is PHP150 for 50ml, while PHP250 for 100ml.
In my next blog, I'll talk about the importance of moisturizers.
Just message me if you have any inquiries!
Take care during this quarantine, wash your hands, and see you on my next blog! :)
